To further deepen our cooperation with the fair, this year we will promote Kandy, one of Sri Lanka's iconic cities, as the Starlight Partner Destination at GITF.
Sri Lanka has introduced many friendly policies and measures for Chinese tourists, such as a 30-day visa-free policy, an electronic travel authorization visa application system, strengthening air connections and launching more direct flights; offering customized travel packages, including cultural tours and eco-tourism adventure activities; and improving safety and comfort standards by providing Mandarin-speaking tour guides to ensure a smooth travel experience for tourists. Additionally, we are committed to promoting sustainable and meaningful tourism, allowing Chinese tourists to deeply experience the local culture and nature."
Mr. Ke Xiandong, Deputy Director of the Cultural and Tourism Bureau of Guangzhou
"The 33rd GITF has arrived. The number 33 symbolizes boundless possibilities. GITF has become a 'smart hub' for precise matching of global cultural and tourism resources. As one of the first national cultural and tourism consumption demonstration cities, Guangzhou is activating new industrial momentum through three major actions: First, it is deepening supply-side reform, integrating domestic and international cultural and tourism resources, and launching personalized and high-quality cultural and tourism products to meet the upgraded consumption demands of domestic and foreign tourists. Second, it is actively applying technology to enhance experiences, using VR, metaverse and other technologies to create immersive scenarios and promoting the implementation of new forms such as 'cloud tourism' and 'digital cultural and creative products'. Third, it is integrating cultural IPs with local characteristics, leveraging the cultural heritage of the Greater Bay Area and the opportunity of the National Games to develop distinctive projects such as intangible cultural heritage, homestays, and event tourism, and telling the 'Guangzhou story' well."
